Cheta D. Akaluka is a Nigerian-Canadian award-winning spoken word artist, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Some of her awards and recognitions include Eutelsat Writer’s Star Award (2016), TBL Winnipeg Poetry Slam Champion (2019), Emily Dickinson Poetry Award (2022), Canadian Service Corps recognition for her valuable contribution towards improving Canadian communities (2022) and the Mayor’s Volunteer Service Award (2024).

Cheta is the founder of S4M Global, Manitoba’s only youth-serving sustainability organization, as well as Florish Global, a charity organization that provides relief, sex education and mentorship to school-aged girls experiencing period poverty.
